It is the castilianization or muteness of the scientific name Aizoaceae. It is the name of a plant family of fleshy leaves, which have become popular in ornamentation, with the name of Succulents. They are the order Caryophyllales. The Caryophyllales family does not exist and there is Caryophyllaceae is different to the Aizoaceae.
