It has its roots in the Greek, ¨desaparecer¨ or ¨desvanecerse¨. This word was coined by Ernest Jones, designates the fear of loss of desire, fear that Jones share both sexes and that he was more fundamental than the castration complex. It also appears in Lacan, the usa alluding to the fading or disappearance of the subject in the process of being constituted in and by language.
