Ancient city of northern Syria in ruins since the twelfth century, also called Apamea and Pella by the Greeks; today it is known as Qal'at al-Madhiq, and is in al-Suqaylabiyah district. The name is a transliteration of arabic 1570; 1601; 1575; 1605; 1610; 1575; 8206; ( Afamia ) .
