Meaning of actocracia

furoya

actocracia
  8

It is a neologism that ironizes the idea that in a political act prior to elections, whoever gathers more people is the one who will win. It is associated with a misconception about democracy (and not so much with other systems of government where the definition is clearer), as if the number of attendees at a rally ("political act") were equal to the number of voters in a vote. See suffix -cracy, epistocracy.
