It means dense hair at one end or at the end. Foliage on the tip. It can be considered as synonymous or a cultism of melenudo, mechudo, dense hair. He's got acrocomia. It is a way of referring in Botany to the class of stems that palm trees have (a dense foliage or plume of leaves only at the end of the stem)
