It is one of the common names of a medicinal plant. It is also denomminated, holly, butcher's broom, broom, chumbarba, brush, wand of St. Joseph. Its scientific name is Ruscus aculeatus and belongs to the Asparagaceae family. It is used for treatments of hemorrhoids, varicose veins, feblitis and arthritis. It is diuretic.
