Abderus or Abderes was the name of one of the companions of Heracles (Hercules) in its eighth work against the Mares of Diomedes, who ate human flesh. They also ate Abderus or Abderes, but they became calm. It was a divine hero, a son of Hermes. Abderes is also a name of male used in Venezuela (César Abderes Castle is the name of a Director of Radio Caracas TV)
