It is the name of a mineral that chemically is an aluminum silicate. The term as such is of Greek origin and means boiling pebble. this is due to the ease they have to hydrate and then release vapors when heated with the environment. They are actually a group of interchangeable cation minerals, also called chabasites, supplemented with the respective cation.

furoya

Aluminium silicate mineral. Being microporous easily absorbs ambient moisture, and when heated releases it in the form of vapors. This feature gave the name, because in Greek 950; 949; 969; (zeo) is "boil" and 955; 953; 952; 959; 962; (lithos) is "stone".
