ORIPI oriP is a region of 1 . 7-kb of the Epstein-Barr virus chromosome virus (EBV) that supports the replication and stabilized maintenance of plasmids in human cells. oriP contains two essential components, DS and FR, both of which contain multiple binding sites for the EBV-encoded protein, EBNA-1 (Epstein-Barr Nuclear Antigen-1). The DS seems to function as a replicator of the oriP.
