In Colombia it means two very different things. On the one hand, it is one of the common names of two kinds of palm: The Euterpe oleracea, known as Acai, Azaí, Huasaí, Manaca, Naidí and La Ludovica palmata, which is also known as Iraca, Jipijapa, Palmicha, Pipi or Paja. Both belong to the Arecaceae family. Another meaning is: name of a small and very sweet banana or banana. It has other common names: Banana sandwich, Platanito, Bananito or Abanito, Titiaro or banana Titiaro.
