In Colombia it is a locality of the Magdalena Department and also the name of a Punta on the Caribbean Sea in the Department of Bolívar. In Colombia it is one of the most common names given to the dragonfly for its way of depositing its eggs in the water and also for the way it catches prey, usually insect larvae, on the surface of water (lakes, puddles, ponds, etc.). They are also usually called devil's horse, bailiff, folelé, helicopter, matapiojos, water dragon.
