Meaning of lacayote

It is the name that in Bolivia they give to a climbing plant of the family Cucurbitaceae, of edible fruits. In Argentina and Chile it is also known as whose or cayote. Elsewhere it is known as chiclayo, chilacayote , bolo , pumpkin, cider, vitoria, zambo. Its scientific name is Cucurbita ficifolia . With it you can prepare soups or sweets. In Colombia we call it bolo, vitoria or pumpkin.
