It is a macerating system. It is a container where crushed olives, where the grape is pressed. Also where crushed or crushed apples (or other fruit) to make cider. It is synonymous with wine press. In Spain there is a village called thus or Jaraiz de la Vera, in the province of Cáceres (Extremadura).
