It is a genus of plants belonging to the family Fabaceae. They are popularly known as guamas or Guam. Its fruit is edible. The most representative species scientific name is Inga edulis (Inga). Inga or Ingano is the name of a quechua ethnicity, which was located more to the North of all and settled in the departments of Nariño, Putumayo, Cauca and Caquetá in Colombia.
