In Lunfardo is to become distracted, to be fooled or misunderstood in some matter. A curious etymology attributes the phrase to a paronomasia of ' becoming Swedish ' (which does not understand Spanish), but in reality it is a gallicism of Sot ("fool") with the phonetic influence of sota (word very used in the games of cards).
