It is the name of a substance used in tests to detect hidden blood in fecal matter. It can be obtained naturally from the tree called equally guayaco (scientific name Guaiacum officinale), which belongs to the family Zygophyllaceae. It is also a way to call those born in Guayaquil or in the province of Guayas in Ecuador. Guayaquileño, guayasense.
