Actually, esgarramantas, is Aragonese word (Aragonese language), whose Castilian equivalent would be "desgarramantas". It is said, effective, entity of the person of little value and possible, and it seems that it comes from the person who does not have for a good blanket and has to settle for one that covers his feet or head, but not both.
