EOSINOPHIL from the Latin eos, 'dawn' and phyla, 'friend'; An eosinophil is a leukocyte or white blood cell of small granulocyte type, which differentiates from hematopoiesis from stem cells produced in the bone marrow, and which has a half-life in the blood circulation of 6 to 12 hours, from which they migrate to the tissues where they live for several days.
