Botanic Break. Giant South American tree, made of very hard wood that originates, etymologically, its own name, break and axe. Thus that wood is used in the construction, as well as in the manufacture of utensils, household appliances and furniture. As if that were not enough, from its rough bark is obtained the tannin; that is, a very astringent substance used as a drug and to tan skins in the hadias or tanneries.
