Diminutive of spark. Small spark. In Colombia it is a pyrotechnic game widely used by children in the festivities, not recommended because it is quite dangerous. Common name given to a very small bird, which is a species of hummingbird. Its scientific name is Selasphorus scintilla. It is also known as sparkling hummingbird, orange-throated sparkling or scintillating hummingbird. It is endemic to Costa Rica.
