It is the old name given to a type of fern which had medicinal uses. Also called pulipodio, ceterach, charranguilla, maidenhair, Golden doradilla. Poultices were made with the ceteraque. Its scientific name is Ceterach officinarum or Asplenium ceterach and belongs to the family Aspleniaceae.
