It is the name of a plant and its fruits. It is also called cañahua, cañihua or kañiwa. Its scientific name is Chenopodium pallidicaule. It belongs to the family Amaranthaceae. It's very similar to the quinoa. It is grown in the Andean highlands several millennia ago.
