It is one of the common names of a small, elongated marine fish. It is also called boquerón, blue fish or bocarte. Its scientific name is Engraulis encrasicolus and it belongs to the family Engraulidae. They live in large banks and can reach up to 20 centimeters. It is consumed a lot in tapas.
